web design ashton.
responsive web design for an online magazine.
about.
AfroLife is an Italy based magazine celebrating African culture. The magazine, which has been in print for some 25 years, focusses on news, politics, sport, gossip and features. Due to the challenges print media faces these days, AfroLife made the decision to go online
AfroLife needed a mobile friendly website that would host their many articles and features in an easy to navigate layout.
solution.
I built AfroLife a responsive website on the WordPress platform.
The website included a homepage featuring a lead article at the top. In addition, I added colour-coded article category feeds as well as latest news.
The newly designed website also features a mega-menu, where top stories are featured straight from the drop down menu.
This new website comes complete with my “Magnificent Seven” plug-ins (stay tuned for my upcoming blog post). These WordPress plug-ins include tools for image optimization, site security and spam protection.
Due to having a number of article authors, the new website also needed to be user friendly and intuitive to use.
The design of the website is rendered in muted tones, ensuring there are no distractions from the articles.
fully responsive.
Looks great across all devices.
ranking ready.
Built-in SEO in order to make Google happy.
stylish features.
Designed to stand out from the crowd.
secure website.
SSL enabled for that all-important browser padlock.
result.
AfroLife got an awesome, responsive website built to do exactly what they need.
The new AfroLife website is easy to navigate thanks to it’s colour coded categories. The SSL certificate and spam filters were also useful as the client anticipates a high number of reader comments.
